Like
Tina Turner, Naomi Campbell has a toned up body that would make even the most
ardent gym-goers jealous. Kicking her legs in the air and waving her arms, she
shows of her inner dancer image.
Naomi has spoken previously about how she
maintains her stunning physique, revealing in an interview with Oprah Winfrey
that she diets on a cocktail of Maple syrup, cayenne pepper, lemon juice and
water. She said:
I try to do this three times a year. The
most I’ve ever done it for is 18 days. It’s good just to clean out your body
once in a while.”
Also
Naomi added that she turns to gyrotonic workouts – an exercise plan which uses
movements usually found in gymnastics, yoga and pilates – to stay slim. She
said:
I don’t like workouts that make you
bulky. This really stretches you. What I like about gyrotonics is you feel like
you really elongated yourself for the day. As we all get older, everything
changes and moves, and there’s natural ways to exercise. I think it’s
important, and I think it’s something that can help keep things in place.”
Tina Turner is famous for her gruff voice, her incredible stage
presence and most of all for her strength of spirit during her loud marriage to
Ike Turner, as captured in the 1993 movie What’s Love Got to Do With It, starring Angela Bassett. Soul Sister, a new
musical inspired by the life of Ike and Tina Turner, is to be premiered at
London’s Hackney Empire, with performances on April 14, and its official opening is on
April 19.
