Katy Perry Denies Criticizing Beyonce On Uk Radio Show
Katy Perry has been battling claims that she criticized Beyonce on national UK radio after it was widely reported that the star had dismissed Shakira and Bey's collaboration 'Beautiful Liar.' As everyone should know, to criticize Beyonce or her husband Jay Z at the moment is widely considered to be sacrilege, the pair not only among the most popular celebrity couples on the planet, but also picking plaudits left right and centre well into their respective music careers. And she's just had a kid!
That didn't stop Perry from reportedly bitching to Fearne Cotton on Bbc Radio 1 though, according to E! Online. When asked if she had plans to collaborate with Rihanna, Perry said "I was telling her, you know that Eurythmics song with Aretha Franklin, Annie Lennox, 'Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves'?" said Perry, then continuing in a slightly dismissive manner, "That's like the kind of song that I'd want to do instead of, like, 'Hips Don't Lie,' which was still a great song by Shakira and Beyonce. I mean, not 'Hips Don't Lie,' what's that duet? 'Beautiful Liar.' I knew there was a 'lie' in it, something about that." Oof.
