singer and ex-husband of Whitney Houston was stopped by police in Los Angeles
this afternoon for allegedly driving while talking on his phone. He then failed
a sobriety test, but it is unclear what substance officers believe the troubled
star had taken before getting behind the wheel.
According to gossip website TMZ, Bobby is currently in custody in Van Nuys jail but his representatives are said to be en route to the facility to post bail.
The 43-year-old singer - whose ex-wife Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel room in February - was previously convicted of DUI in Georgia in 1996.
The Two Can Play That Game singer entered a guilty plea at the time and served eight days in jail for the offence.
Bobby and Whitney - who had 19-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina - were married from 1992 to 2007 and had a volatile relationship blighted by drug abuse and accusations of violence.
Bobby Brown is currently engaged to Alicia Etheridge.
