Kelly Rowland Leaves Britain's X Factor
Kelly Rowland's representative has blamed her departure from the U.K. version of The X Factor on the singer's hectic schedule.
The former Destiny's Child star won't be returning as a judge for the new series of the hit show, with her spokesperson citing "global commitments coupled with the show's increasing demands" as the reason for her exit after just one season.
In a statement, Rowland says, "I love the U.K. and being part of the show last year. Mentoring the girls was such an incredible experience I will never forget. I would like to thank Simon for the great opportunity and asking me to be a judge last season."
No further details of Rowland's departure from the show were revealed, but shortly before her official statement, she posted a cryptic comment on her Twitter.com page, writing, "Only God can judge me."
A spokesperson for the show says, "Kelly's immense experience in the music industry shone through in both her judging and mentoring on The X Factor and we would like to thank her for being a part of the country's number one show and wish her well for the future."
Earlier this month (Apr12), music mogul Simon Cowell confirmed Rowland's fellow judge Gary Barlow was returning for the new series, and singer Tulisa Contostavlos hinted on Monday (30Apr12) that it looks "likely" she will head back to the show
